The conflict in Ukraine forces countless families to rely on aid. Displacement strains communities far from the frontline. In a recent effort to provide relief, Hope For Ukraine (HFU) delivered critical food aid to internally displaced families in Kriviy Rih. Indeed, we distributed food kits and potatoes to these families.
This distribution is a core part of HFU’s Family Support Project. It is the cornerstone of our direct aid efforts. Consequently, we design the food kits to feed a family for about ten days. We supplement them with essential items like hygiene products. Our teams provide crucial, consistent assistance to about 1,700 families weekly across Ukraine. Families received bags of potatoes and non-perishable goods. This underscores the profound need for nutritional support.
The project’s goal is not just to sustain life. But rather, we help families move from acute crisis toward stability. For children, our aid helps prevent school disruptions once conflict ends. Furthermore, the project helps families secure the welfare and future of their children, moving beyond emergency aid.
Additionally, HFU recognizes that supporting internally displaced families is crucial for Ukraine’s overall stability. While we delivered food aid to Kriviy Rih, HFU operates a dedicated Refugee Center in Lviv. This center has provided over 1,300 internally displaced persons with safe accommodation, meals, and specialized care since February 2022. Therefore, this wide-ranging support ensures HFU offers a pathway to survival whether a family is near the frontline or in a major transit hub.
HFU maintains exemplary financial accountability. This allows us to maximize every donation’s impact. In fact, we dedicate an extraordinary 95% of our total expenses toward direct program services. The BBB Wise Giving Alliance fully accredits our high efficiency. This enables our high-risk Frontline Project operations. Ultimately, we can consistently deliver aid to internally displaced families hubs like Kriviy Rih.
