Even far from the frontlines, the threat of attack forces many in Ukraine to seek refuge underground. Recently, our team entered a bomb shelter in Kriviy Rih to deliver crucial food kits for bomb shelter residents. This critical distribution provides immediate, reliable nourishment to displaced families living in confined, temporary conditions.
The shelter serves as a temporary home for internally displaced families (IDPs). Our distribution, a key function of the Family Support Project, brings essential food kits that sustain a family for approximately ten days. The photos capture the urgency and quiet relief of receiving aid in these underground spaces. Indeed, consistent aid is a lifeline in such conditions. HFU provides crucial assistance to an average of 1,700 families across Ukraine on a weekly basis.
This essential and ongoing effort, whether underground or above, is sustained by our operational efficiency. In fact, HFU dedicates an extraordinary 95% of its total expenses toward direct program services. This commitment to transparency and efficiency is key to maximizing every donation’s impact.
