Roseland, New Jersey – Hope For Ukraine has been shortlisted for the 11th Annual Shorty Impact Awards for “Beyond The Headlines: The Human Stories of Hope For Ukraine” in the Nonprofit category as well as the Storytelling category, showcasing its efforts to drive positive change with innovative and impactful work.

“Beyond The Headlines: The Human Stories of Hope For Ukraine” bridges the gap between abstract headlines and cross-cultural empathy by keeping the crisis visible through near-real-time updates. The initiative leverages a high-frequency digital storytelling framework powered by a custom mobile app, through which our team on the ground in Ukraine uploads frontline media, field updates, and eyewitness testimonies under volatile conditions. By maintaining a rigorous two-hour publishing cadence, Hope For Ukraine bypasses traditional media gaps to reach over 15 million global viewers monthly and drive millions of organic engagements. This visibility directly fuels the organization’s operational capacity, enabling critical expansions such as funding and delivering over 100 mobility scooters to veteran amputees.

Beyond the metrics and digital milestones, the core focus of our daily communications remains grounded in the human lives sustained on the ground. Whether reaching an isolated grandmother cut off by drone bombardments with a fresh delivery of food or providing solace to children in summer camps, every shared story turns an invisible struggle into a tangible lifeline. This continuous thread of connection proves that transparent, grassroots storytelling successfully converts digital awareness into real-world humanitarian impact every single day.

“In 2022, when full-scale war pushed millions into despair, we faced a dual crisis of surging survival needs and a shifting global news cycle,” said Yuriy Boyechko, Chief Executive Officer at Hope For Ukraine. “By turning our mobile app into a real-time storytelling lifeline, we prove that human-centric narratives can keep hope operational on the frontlines. Being named a Shorty Impact finalist validates our team’s relentless dedication to ensuring Ukrainian lives are never forgotten.”

“This year’s theme, ‘What Matters?’ puts the focus back on the purpose behind the work: what needs to change, who needs to be reached, and what meaningful action looks like beyond the dashboard,” said Junmian Sun, Managing Director, Shorty Impact Awards. “We’re proud to recognize this year’s finalists and invite the public to weigh in through the Audience Honor Voting, running September 29 through October 13.”

Winners will be announced at the Shorty Impact Awards ceremony on November 17, at The Belasco in Los Angeles.
